The time has come to announce George Kittle as the best tight end in football. Travis Kelce is the easy answer. Mark Andrews might be the sneaky answer. Evan Engram may be the best receiver answer. George Kittle is the correct answer. The San Francisco 49ers tight end is the best one currently in the NFL.

Don’t get me wrong. There’s a lot of great tight ends out there. George Kittle is just playing on an entirely different level. Kittle is the most explosive athlete at the position. The former Iowa product stands at 6-foot-4, 250. During the 2017 NFL Draft process, Kittle posted highest SPARQ (speed, power, agility, reaction and quickness test) score among all tight ends in the draft class, according to Three Sigma Athlete’s Zach Whitman. Kittle also posted a 4.52 – 40 time which is ridiculous for his size. Oh, and Kittle comes from Iowa. That means he also blocks.

Kittle was overlooked in the draft for really no reason. It happens. What he’s proving in the NFL is that he should have gone in the first round. Kittle isn’t even having a huge season yet. 31 catches for 331 and one touchdown doesn’t jump out at you. However, Kittle leads all tight ends in yards per route run at 2.91. The next closest is Mark Andrews at 2.59. Travis Kelce is all the way down at 2.39. Kittle is the most explosive player at the position.

The number of long touchdowns Kittle records is lunacy. Kittle had 6 different receptions of at least 40 yards. That’s an insanse number for a tight end. He also had 4 more additional catches go for at least 30 yards. No other tight end in football is creating more big plays for their offense. The craziest part is that nearly all of those plays came with Nick Mullens and CJ Beathard throwing him the ball. He hasn’t even clicked with Jimmy Garoppolo yet. That’s the scary part.

Kittle is the most complete tight end in the game and is just scratching the surface. He’s also important piece in the run game for Kyle Shanahan. In an offense that is surrounded with young receivers such as Dante Pettis and Deebo Samuel, George Kittle gets all the attention from defenses. He still finds a way to bust through defenses for big games. That’s because there isn’t a player in the league that’s suitable to cover him. George Kittle is the best tight end in football. Better get on the bandwagon now before it becomes painfully obvious to the rest of the league.
